Speaking House is a series of photographs made in an abandoned house which used to be a mental hospital.
In this a huge empty house I worked for two years by transforming
its weired, colorfull rooms into camera obscura and then photographing the phenomena in different kind of dark rooms where I had to use long exposures lasting from minutes to hours. This slow work was like a meditation of light and in the images the dilapidated spaces merge with spaces of light.
The series has 30 images, sizes from 47 x 59 cm to 95 x 250 cm.
They are printed on thick Hahnemüle Torchon paper with long lasting pigment ink colors.
First time they were showd 2006 in my solo exhibition in Gallery Heino, Helsinki, www.galleriaheino.fi.
